All skits with the same two characters: Frank and Edith. This couple considers themselves pillars of the church, but they are truthfully hypocrites and cannot see
Frank and Edith are pillars of the church. Well, that is what they think anyway. You'll probably find them a bit hypocritical and vain, but you might see someone you know, or maybe even yourself. Humorous with a message, as Frank has decided to join the church choir because he can turn things around in the music at the church. This is one of several Christian skits about Frank and Edith.
Another skit about Frank and Edith. This one takes place in their car as they get ready to drive home from church. They just heard a sermon on tithing and they discuss their reactions to that subject. Of course, they believe that they are good givers, but their conversation gives away their ignorance of what God's word teaches, and their unwilling spirits to trust God with their finances. Humorous and convicting all at the same time.
This is another Frank and Edith skit that has them talking about a missionary that they just heard speak at their church. They discuss how important mission work is to them, and how they should support this particular missionary, because he gave such a good presentation. Of course, they come up with reasons not to, and talk themselves out of it completely. You will either laugh at their reasoning, or realize you do the same thing.
Frank and Edith are at it again! This time they are trying to keep out of the whole Christmas scene at church, but they get asked to do stuff anyway. They agree, but only because they don't want to look bad. Edith is supposed to find a baby Jesus for the manger scene, and Frank is to read something at the end of the program. What he reads is the truth of why Jesus came and for a second you think it got through to them both. But not these two... one beat later... they are right back on their own hypocritical soap box. We laugh at them because it rings so true, and sometimes it rings a little too close to home.
This is the fifth Frank and Edith sketch. This time, Frank is all worked up over the new building project at church. As they discuss how the plans are coming along and the topic of giving toward it, their hypocrisy shines through everything they say...as always.
In this sketch, Frank and Edith are in their car again hurrying out of the church parking lot. The pastor has gone past noon again and they are concerned about the restaurants all being crowded now. They really let their true colors shine this time as they talk about ways to get the pastor to shorten the service. This leads Frank into a discussion on what Heaven will be like, with his warped and crazy ideas. Then they arrive at their favorite restaurant, which is now very crowded.
